If OJ Simpson was found guilty in the second trial (civil court), why didnt he go to jail ?

Civil court requires a lower standard of evidence than criminal court. Criminal court requires you to be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He was found not guilty, therefore (1)he could not be tried again (2)he cannot go to jail for the crime. Civil court requires a lower standard of evidence: a preponderance of evidence. It was found that there was more evidence pointing to him committing murder than there was to defend him. So he was found responsible for the death and had to pay restitution for his crimes.
