Has anyone ever interacted with anyone ( alive or dead) in dreams?

After watching the movie inception, I was left question some of the things projected. Particularly, leonardo dicaprio's characters interactions with his wife in the dream world. This leads to my question, Has anyone ever interacted with anyone in their dreams? I'm particularly interested in whether someone was able to actually create new memories. For example, having a completely original conversation in an unfamiliar landscape with an individual who has ped away. I look forward to hearing about your experiences.
